Kurdistan Medical City

The Kurdistan Medical City (KMC) is a greenfield medical city project in that covers an approximate 108,000 SQM site. The KMC features two main components: a 425-bed Medical Complex and a 1,200-student Medical University (complete with student housing).

This four-phase medical city project is the first of its kind in the Kurdistan region of Iraq, as well as the region. The KMC focuses on building local healthcare capacity in the Kurdistan region and Iraq through the delivery of medical care, training, and continuing education to U.S. Standards.

The 425-bed Medical Complex will comprise:

  • 250-bed General Hospital

  • Comprehensive Outpatient Medical Office Building with 45-bed ENT & Plastics Same-day Surgery Center

  • 40-bed Oncology Center

  • 90-bed Women & Children's Hospital

The Medical University will provide accredited degrees in general medicine, nursing, dentistry, hospital administration, and other related disciplines to students from the Kurdistan region and beyond. The University will be partnered with a leading U.S. medical teaching institution. The Medical University will assist in meeting the great need for medical professionals throughout the region, as well as provide student housing.
