George Mason University Van Metre Hall (formerly Founders Hall)

This structure has eight stories above grade and three stories below grade totaling 42,740 SQM. To support GMU's School of Policy, Government and International Affairs, the building houses classrooms, an auditorium, multi-purpose rooms, offices, and a library. It also includes a below-grade, three-level garage. Work included significant underpinning and an excavation support system for adjacent buildings. The project was designed in accordance with the requirements of the Commonwealth of Virginia Construction & Professional Services Manual for Architect/Engineers.

This project has also garnered the following awards: AIA|DC Merit Award; AIA MD Honor Award for Institutional Architecture; AIA Northern Virginia Merit Award; DESIGN Arlington Merit Award; and NAIOP Northern Virginia Award of Excellence.
